Right!  Sapo is a real game!

The game of Sapo is played throughout Peru and is spreading to other countries as well.

In an ancient legend "El Sapo" (the frog) lived in a sacred lake, the Titicaca, and had magical powers.  The Incas believed that if they could toss a piece of gold into the frog's mouth, the player would be awarded a wish and the frog would turn to gold.  The legend later became a game of skill and dexterity and continues to be played in public places, restaurants, pubs, and at backyard parties.

The game of Sapo is played using bronze tokens and a large wood box with cutout holes, spinners, and a bronze frog with an open mouth.  Each hole/spinner, including the frog has an assigned point value.  As players toss coins the points are added to see who wins.  When someone lands a coin in the mouth of the frog everyone shouts, "Sapo!"
